Nbd Surgical Hub' Barraquer Wire Speculum with Solid Wire Blades is a surgical instrument specifically designed to assist ophthalmic surgeons in procedures which require an adequate eyelid retraction. This device is widely utilized to expose an optimal view of the ocular operating site, and is featured with a resistant wire structured provided with a standard spring mechanism and two solid blades. The surgeon carefully inserts the blades beneath the respective eyelids and tightens the instrument in order to obtain an adequate degree of spreading. The solid blades profile is extremely useful as it prevents eyelashes from puncturing the tissue exposed in the surgical field. This device is available in 10mm and 15mm blades sizes, aiming to treat infant and adult patients respectively.
